CORPS UPDATES

Preserving our history, chapter by chapter.

We are bringing our history together in a timeline that connects the people who served with us, the riverfront we know and the work recorded over the years.

Explore the record.

Our timeline contains 20 chapters through October 2026. Browse an era or follow a topic: response, people, community or organization. Each chapter opens to a source note explaining what the record establishes.

We include Ed Vinson’s photograph of our building during the Great Flood of 1993, alongside accounts of river searches, recovery assistance, community service and past leadership.

Keep dates honest.

We identify February 11, 1960 as our reported founding date. We are still seeking original founding records and confirmation of our founders’ names. We do not present that date as a verified charter date.

We also distinguish the date of an incident from the date of a later article or remembrance. When we cannot establish a date, we say so.

Help us preserve our story.

If you have dated photographs, original documents, meeting records or a correction supported by a source, please contact us. Include the context and photographer’s name where known. Please do not send private membership records or sensitive incident information.
