ABOUT KVEC

Our community.
Our responsibility.

We are Keokuk Volunteer Emergency Corps, a volunteer search-and-rescue organization serving our river community.

A local role in public safety

We assist with search and rescue on the Mississippi River and support emergency response in the Keokuk area. River search and rescue is our primary focus.

We also assist with recovery operations and traffic control at emergency scenes. We work alongside fire departments, law enforcement, EMS, and other responding agencies.

Service that spans generations

Our history reflects the commitment of the people who have served with us. We recognize former commander Beryl L. Roberts, longtime Chief Kevin Baker, and the members who helped sustain our organization.

Each response is part of that history. So is the quieter work of staying involved, helping other members, and making time to serve.
